IBPS Clerk Recruitment 2012 Notification
A good news for all the unemployed Graduates and Undergraduates of India that Public Sector banks in India are on a Hiring spree and this fact is verified by the fact that soon after the declaration of IBPS Clerk Results 2012, Bank of Baroda, one of the largest Public Sector banks in India have announced its Clerical Recruitment Project-2012, inviting application for 2000 vacancies for its branches across the country.As we can say that this is only a start and the trend is likely to continue for the Upcoming 2-3 years
Why there is a need for such a massive Recruitment ?
Public Sector banks in India are facing a huge shortage of employees due to two main reasons:
- Retirement of Employees in 2012-2015
- Expansion of Business (Eg. Opening of New Bank Branches)
Apart from the above mentioned reasons, the banks have been ordered by Ministry of Finance, Government of India to open branches in the under banked areas by September 2012.Reserve Bank of India has identified 296 districts, which are under-banked, spread across 18 states and union territories.The definition of under-banked areas are those in which the population is less than 5000
Role of IBPS
IBPS had introduced the concept of Common Written Exams for Selection of Clerks, Probationary Officers and Specialist Officers.This pattern of Examination is similar to that of AIEEE, MAT, CATetc.Successful students in the CWE are issued scorecards based on their performance in the IBPS exam.The scorecard is mandatory to apply for Jobs in Public Sector banks
Why there is need for IBPS ?
IBPS had been conducting recruitment exams for individual banks from the past so many years and this process is replaced by Common Written Examination system by IBPS after receiving mandates from the 19 Public Sector banks of India.The major reason for introducing the Common Written Examination system is the lengthy recruitment process of Individual banks.
Now gone are the days when students will have to wait for 6-8 months for the declaration of their results,IBPS had made possible the result declaration with in the span of 2 to 2.5 months.

IBPS clerical recruitment 2012 is announced and the last date to apply Online is 5th Nov, 2012, So students must start preparing for this exam as the level of competition in this exam is said be very high.We have seen some mind boggling fugues in the IBPS clerk Exam 2011, let us have a look at it
- Total Number of Registered Candidates : 44 Lakh
- Candidates appeared for the Exam: 31 lakh
- Passed Candidates in the IBPS Clerk Exam: 5.31 Lakh
A COMMON WRITTEN EXAMINATION (CWE) WILL BE CONDUCTED BY THE INSTITUTE OF BANKING PERSONNEL SELECTION (IBPS) FOR RECRUITMENT OF CLERICAL CADRE POSTS 19 PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS
Last Date : 5th Nov, 2012
Common Written Exam Tentative Date : Dec, 2012
Don’t worry Process is very simple like other Examinations just read this carefully. Please Note : State Bank of India & Its Associate Banks are not included in this recruitment process.
Eligibility Criteria for Common Written Examination :-
Nationality & Citizenship: Citizen of India Or Subject of Nepal, Bhutan, A Tibetan Refugee who came over the India before 01/01/1962 and others
Age Criteria : 20 to 28 years (Minimum 20 years and Maximum 28) years.
Relaxations : 5 years for SC/ST/, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for Persons with Disabilities and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen.
Education Qualification:
i) Degree in any Discipline from a recognized University of India
ii) Applicants must have the working Knowledge of Computers
iii) Applicants must be able to Read, write and Speak the Local language of the state.
Application Fee : Rs.450/- for GEN & OBC (Rs.50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) through ONLINE MODE OR OFFLINE MODE
- Online Mode
- Offline Mode
How to Apply :“Apply On-Line” at www.ibps.in as and when ibps declare their dates.No other mode of application will be accepted. (Read the Following Easy Steps for Application)
- Scan photograph (200 x 230 in 20kb-50kb) & Signatures (140 x 60, in 10kb-20kb) also with in the required specifications
- Then go to the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in& Click on the Link “Common Written Examination For Recruitment of Clerical Cadre”
- Keep the application fee deposit details (Transaction details UTR No. & IFSC Code etc.)
- Now fill the form as in the prescribed format and fill the all details Correctly & Carefully. There are 2 pages of the Application Form fill the both 2 pages of the Application Form
- After apply take a print out of the “System Generated Application Form” & ensure the all particulars filled in the application form are correct and keep it for the all future requirements..
- Candidate don’t need to send the Application Form to the IBPS.
- Candidate must have a Valid E-mail ID till the recruitment process (from the application of CWE till the appointment of the candidate)
Pattern of Common Entrance Examination :
Total Marks &Questions :250 Question & 250 Marks Papers (Negative marking applicable)
Duration : 150 Minutes for Reasoning, English Language, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge.
Note : The tests will be in English & Hindi Except the Test of English Language
- Reasoning : 40 Questions Max. 40 marks
- English Language : 40 Questions Max. 40 marks
- Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude : 40 Question Max. 40 marks
- General Awareness (With special reference to Banking Industry) : 40 Questions Max. 40 marks
- Computer Knowledge : 40 Questions Max. 40 marks
CWE Score Card : Score Cards issued by IBPS will be valid for 1 year from the date of issue of the Score Card. Candidates can appear in subsequent examinations to enhance their scores if they so desire.

Starting date for Online Registration/Application : 15th Oct, 2012
Last Date for Online Registration/Application: 5th Nov, 2012
Fee can be deposited between : 15th Oct, 2012 to 9th Nov, 2012
Written Examination will be held on Sunday : Dec, 2012

if there is no vacancy in the said region, no matter how many marks u obtain u’l never get a cal for interview… For eg. 1 vacant post, where all the pass candidate apply for it.we are wasting our money. how many will be cal for interview??? to the most 3candidate. why dn’t the ibps management or board direct the pass candidate to different bank according to mark obtain n let us face atleast the interview… if not its just discouraging the candidate….with the so cal the score card… thankyou..

My son appeared in IBPS examination after passing classX examination with 66% marks and also cleared IBPS exam with 152 marks but every banks(except 2 banks) requires XIIpass out as their minimum qualification.I donnot understand why IBPS advertised XTH PASS WITH 60%marks as their minimum qualification till date .

The minimum qualification required in ibps is 10+2 in clerical recruitment. But minimum qualification required by some banks like PNB is a degree from recognized university which is injustice for undergraduates. So please contact PNB and reply.

So I and undergraduates are not eligble which is unfair and unjustice for us. So please contact the above bank to avoid my mental harashment. Along with this all the banks who are coming up with their vacancies are calling students with almost similar cut offs that shows only a few number of students are selected for interview in every bank so again lack of opportunity is faced by many students like me.

IBPS new recruitment strategy is simply playing with the career, patience, time and money of struggling students. IBPS has selected 1.10 lakhs of students through the common entrance exam of 19 public sector banks. These 19 banks are giving recruitment notification with their desired cut off score in IBPS in a random order. Now suppose if a bank specifies a cut off of 140 marks then all students with a score of 140 marks will be prompted to apply for the recruitment but banks will shortlist the upper scorer candidates among all who have applied, and there are nil chances for the students with 140 marks or nearby to be selected. Every bank is doing same thing i.e setting a cut off score and selecting the high score candidates, lower the cut off of a bank, higher will be the number of candidates applying, but bank will be selecting only the top list candidates and the bank will be making more profit via the large number of Demand Drafts. Its good that more deserving candidates are shortlisted for interview but what is more ironical is that through this process a range of high scoring candidates will be applying for all recruitment notifications unless he got the final result of a bank .Only high score candidates will be shortlisted by a number of banks and chances are there that they will be selected in multiple banks but obviously finally they will be joining one bank and wasting all other seats in other banks which could have been offered to some other student. Now if we look at the figures there will be on average 900 vacancies per bank, this implies a total of 19000 vacancies in 19 banks. If approx. 4500 students are called by a bank for 900 posts, then many of these 4500 might be shortlisted for other banks too, with this overlapping only upper 20000 students will be called in multiple banks ….. 19000 seats then what for 1.10 lakh-19000 = 90000 students, they will only be wasting Rs 200 x 19 = 3800/-(per student) and a profit of 3800×9000=342000000(34crores) to IBPS……students will be simply tortured…..what was the need of selecting 1.10 lakhs of the students as every student will be applying for the bank in which his cut off is cleared, they are merely doing business out of this recruitment…………

I have a one querry is that IBPS has changed their exam pattern for PO exam, it is good for who did MBA MCA student because they are already face that type of exam pattern. But who did simple graduation what they are doing, some student belonging in village they how to know about or such type exam pattern because they don’t know about these thing.

Participates banks are hopeless. Why they fixed their cut off marks twice? Is not it a harassment to us. Why they collect the fee, if they could not call for interview. (For Example, UBI, PSB, Corpbank etc. Please stop such a hopeless work.

I am a OBC ex- serviceman candidate and got 145 score. My complain is that in every bank top scorer are being called for interview and they are applying in every bank even though they are cleared for final selection. Thereby they are blocking the vacancy reserved for ex serviceman in every bank,so that scorer like me are not getting chance for even interview. why …?
a) The banks whose selection procedures are completed are not forwarding the final selection list to ibps for further blocking their registration/roll no. in view to give chance to lower scorer.
b) The ibps is not organizing a combined interview for for final selection , in veiw to give the chance equally to everybody,not blocking reserved seat also.
c)If the above things are not implemented ,a large of deserving candidates will be debarred from getting job as well as keep faith in such a big selection procedure.
so, I request your honorable department to implement such a nice filtration procedure to give chance to more and more people those who are in queue.

this is hope less….!!!! haven’t got any of call letter for interview even i had score 162 marks…..may be they have not call, as i m not a graduate….!!!!
it is neccessary or mandatory to be a graduate for claiming any chance for the inrerview round …unless it would be again hopeless attempt…!!!
